Central Oakville / Old Oakville

Central Oakville is bordered by Lake Ontario to the south, Cornwall Road to the north; Sixteen Mile Creek to the east and Dorval Road to the west. Old Oakville is bordered by Lake Ontario to the south, Cornwall Road to the north; Chartwell Road to the east and Sixteen Mile Creek to the west. 

Well known for its beauty and charm, Old Oakville is centrally located along the shores of Lake Ontario within walking distance to the downtown area and some of the GTA’s best restaurants and terrific bake shops, gift shops, boutiques, and more. 

The area around Sixteen Mile creek and Lake Ontario was the area to first be populated and if you walk through these neighbourhoods today, you will still see plenty of homes that have been lovingly maintained in their historic state. 

Just beyond the downtown core, along Lakeshore you will find the campus of Appleby College. A private school for girls and boys from Kindergarten through high school, the campus includes several acres on the shores of Lake Ontario and looks much more like a beautiful University campus than an elementary/high school. The historic downtown neighbourhoods of Old Oakville have long been recognized as the quintessential place to live. 

Old Oakville and the surrounding areas are home to many executives and professionals and considered one of the richest neighbourhoods in Canada.
